Massive Pileup Paralyzes Mexico-Querétaro Highway Due to Wet Conditions

On Wednesday, November 20, a significant multi-vehicle accident occurred on the Mexico-Querétaro Highway at kilometer 059+000, specifically within the Huehuetoca region of the State of Mexico. A large trailer traveling toward Mexico City was unable to stop in time, crashing through a bank before colliding with five passenger cars and a pickup truck near the Jorobas intersection. The impact left the heavy vehicle positioned across all three north-south lanes, necessitating a partial highway closure and causing extensive traffic delays. Preliminary reports suggest that wet road conditions caused by persistent rain played a critical role in the driver’s inability to brake effectively. Emergency services, including paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to provide medical assistance. While no fatalities or severe injuries were reported, several individuals suffered minor injuries. Authorities recommended that some victims visit a hospital for further assessment to rule out complications. Law enforcement continues to investigate the specific dynamics of the collision while managing the resulting congestion.
