When viewers tuned in at the program’s usual 11:35 p.m. Eastern broadcast time, they instead saw a rerun from Oct. 28 rather than host Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue. The unexpected substitution prompted confusion and speculation online. One Reddit user who said they had tickets for the taping shared what appeared to be an email from the show’s audience department stating that the episode had been postponed and that ticket holders would be contacted to reschedule.
