There’s Been A New Update On Talks With Iran And It’s Not Good

Iranian Hardliners Renew Threats Against Trump and Netanyahu as Regional Tensions Persist

Tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel remain elevated as reports indicate that senior Iranian clerics have issued renewed calls for action against President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid the ongoing regional conflict.

According to reports, members of Iran’s 88-member Assembly of Experts released a statement describing both leaders as deserving of death under their interpretation of religious law. The statement reportedly characterized retaliation as a religious obligation, further intensifying concerns about escalating rhetoric between Tehran and its adversaries.

The reported declaration comes as uncertainty continues over Iran’s internal power structure. While the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has played a prominent role in military operations, analysts say Iran’s clerical leadership continues to exert significant influence over the country’s political and strategic direction. At the same time, elements of Iran’s civilian government have continued discussing the possibility of future diplomatic negotiations.

Iranian media have also published strongly worded messages directed at the United States and Israel, reflecting the heightened tensions that have followed months of military confrontation.

Security experts note that threats against current and former senior government officials are treated seriously by U.S. and Israeli security agencies. President Trump has previously survived an assassination attempt during a 2024 campaign rally, and federal authorities have publicly acknowledged investigating additional threats against him in the past.

Some analysts have also raised concerns about the possibility of hostile foreign operatives attempting attacks abroad, although no public evidence has confirmed any specific operational plans connected to the latest statements.

Experts generally agree that any state-sponsored attack on a U.S. president or another senior Western leader would likely trigger a significant international response with far-reaching diplomatic and military consequences.

As tensions remain high, officials continue monitoring developments closely while diplomatic efforts to reduce the risk of further escalation remain uncertain. The latest statements underscore the fragile security environment and the challenges facing regional stability.
