In the early hours of the morning, the calm waters of the Persian Gulf become the stage for a tense maritime encounter. While it may sound like a scene from an action film, this story is a fictional scenario inspired by the real capabilities of US Navy SEALs and the ongoing need to protect international shipping routes in a strategically important region. At dawn, a 16-member SEAL team is conducting a patrol aboard two Mark V Special Operations Craft. Their mission is to monitor activity and respond quickly to any threats that might endanger commercial vessels traveling through the busy waters near the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical shipping corridors.
At approximately 0545 hours, the team’s radar detects three fast-moving vessels about 40 nautical miles southeast of the strait. The boats are soon identified as two Zolfaghar-class fast attack craft and one Peykaap-class patrol boat. These types of vessels are known for their high speed and agility, making them capable of quickly approaching larger ships. The SEAL team immediately issues radio warnings, instructing the boats to stop and change course. Instead of complying, the vessels begin making evasive maneuvers and continue heading toward the shipping lanes. With the situation escalating and the risk to civilian vessels increasing, the SEAL commander decides to take action.
The Mark V craft accelerate across the water as the operators prepare their weapons. Twin .50-caliber machine guns are positioned for engagement, while an MH-60S Seahawk helicopter circles above, providing surveillance and armed support.
