😱Nampa Mayor Dies After Collapsing During Town Hall Meeting…

Rick Hogaboam, the recently elected mayor of Nampa, Idaho, passed away at the age of 47 after collapsing during a regional gathering at Eagle City Hall.

The medical emergency occurred on Wednesday evening while Hogaboam was addressing a question. Eagle Mayor Brad Pike immediately administered CPR until paramedics arrived, but Hogaboam was later pronounced dead. The cause of death is currently under investigation by local authorities. The incident also took a physical toll on Caldwell Mayor Eric Philips, who was present during the collapse. Following the event, Philips experienced chest pains and dizziness, requiring him to be transported to a hospital for medical evaluation. He described the experience as devastating, highlighting the suddenness of the loss. Hogaboam had only been in office since January 5, following a landslide victory where he secured nearly 63% of the vote. Before his short-lived mayoral term, Hogaboam served the public as a Canyon County clerk, a member of the Nampa City Council, and a representative in the Idaho State Senate. In the interim, City Council President David Bills has assumed the role of acting mayor. Plans are being finalized for the appointment of a temporary successor and the scheduling of a special election later this year to fill the vacancy left by his passing.
