Tensions in the Persian Gulf have significantly escalated following reports of Iranian attacks on U.S. military bases in the region. Iranian state television, citing military sources, reported that multiple strikes were launched against American installations across the Gulf. This announcement has heightened concerns in several Gulf countries, prompting governments to issue public safety warnings.

According to these reports, Iranian forces used ballistic missiles to target various military facilities. In response, local authorities urged residents to stay indoors and avoid areas near military sites as a safety precaution. Reuters reported that a powerful explosion was heard in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Shortly after, the UAE closed its airspace due to growing security fears. It is believed that Iranian missiles struck the Al Dhafra Air Base, which hosts U.S. forces. Witnesses described massive explosions in the area. Further west, in Bahrain, smoke was seen rising from the Al Jufair district in the capital, Manama, which is home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters. Iranian sources claimed that the location was targeted by their forces.

In Qatar, the Interior Ministry issued a shelter-in-place advisory after a missile was reportedly aimed at Al Udeid Air Base, another key U.S. military installation. Authorities confirmed that the missile was intercepted by a Patriot missile defense system. As a precautionary measure, Qatari authorities also closed the country’s airspace while the situation is closely monitored. These developments signal a major escalation in the Persian Gulf, increasing the likelihood of further military clashes and potentially drawing in other regional and global powers. If these reports are confirmed, this could mark a turning point in the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, with significant consequences for the broader Middle East and international security.
