Texas Man Arrested After Threatening TPUSA’s Erika Kirk

A 26-year-old Texas resident, Jacob Wenske, has been formally charged with a third-degree felony following a series of alarming online threats directed at Turning Point USA (TPUSA) and its CEO, Erika Kirk. According to law enforcement authorities, the investigation was triggered by a Facebook post from a local newspaper promoting the upcoming Women’s Leadership SummitWenske allegedly responded to the post and sent subsequent emails containing graphic threats of violence, specifically claiming to know exactly where to plant a bomb to target the organization’s leadership and attendees. The case highlights the growing dangers faced by political organizations in an increasingly polarized climate.

The Women’s Leadership Summit, a high-profile gathering expected to draw over 2,500 participants, is slated to take place from June 5–7 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk in San AntonioWenske’s alleged communications expressed a violent animosity toward Erika Kirk and other scheduled speakers, with one email stating that every Christian nationalist shall perish in bombings targeting TPUSA rallies. These threats are being treated with the utmost seriousness by federal and local authorities, as they involve public fear of serious bodily injury and significant disruption to the public order. This legal development comes during a period of intense security for TPUSA leadership. Erika Kirk stepped into her role as CEO following the tragic assassination of her husband and the group’s co-founder, Charlie Kirk, who was killed at an event in Utah last year. Since assuming command, Erika Kirk has been the subject of a relentless stream of threats, which recently led to the cancellation of a scheduled appearance at the University of Georgia in April. Despite these risks, TPUSA spokesperson Matt Shupe affirmed that the organization remains undeterred. He noted that all events are protected by multi-layered security measures enforced by both private security and local police. In a related judicial matter, Judge Tony Graf recently unsealed a ballistics report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) regarding the murder of Charlie Kirk. The report provided critical details about evidence linked to the suspect, Tyler Robinson. While some fragments could not be definitively matched, the ATF confirmed that a spent casing found at the crime scene matched the suspected murder weapon. As the legal proceedings against Robinson continue, the leadership at TPUSA maintains that they will not let these violent threats silence their advocacy or disrupt their planned events in Texas.
