Board chair Judy Corn cited Heaton’s unique ability to integrate faith and creativity as the driving force behind the decision. As part of her leadership, Heaton will oversee the Storytelling with Purpose initiative, a cross-disciplinary program designed to merge Belmont’s renowned music and ministry departments with its growing film school. The goal is to mentor a new generation of artists who focus on redemption arcs and meaningful narratives as much as commercial success. Heaton’s first official act is the launch of a campus-wide chapel series titled No Perfect People Allowed.
