Full articlehere:😞 Trump Threatens to Target Iranian Energy Infrastructure If No Peace Deal

President Donald Trump has issued a stark ultimatum to Iran, threatening the total destruction of the nation’s critical energy infrastructure—including oil wellselectric generating plantsdesalinization plants, and Kharg Island—if a peace deal is not finalized shortly. Despite the aggressive rhetoric, Trump indicated that the United States is currently in “serious discussions” with what he characterized as a “new, and more reasonable” regime in Tehran. The President framed these potential strikes as retribution for the Islamic Republic’s historical actions and the soldiers killed over the regime’s 47-year “Reign of Terror.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed this sense of urgency, stating that U.S. military operations, which began on February 28 in coordination with Israel, are expected to conclude within weeks. Rubio noted that military objectives are being met ahead of schedule, aligning with an initial projected timeline of four to seven weeks. While messages have been exchanged with the Iranian system, Rubio expressed a need for further clarification regarding the current authority in Tehran and the specific terms they are willing to discuss under the shadow of the ongoing conflict. The Trump administration has reportedly put forward a 15-point proposal aimed at ending the war. Special envoy Steve Witkoff expressed optimism that this framework could resolve the crisis, which has already resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian leaders and the significant degradation of Iran‘s industrial capacity. Trump confirmed that he has temporarily paused strikes on power infrastructure to provide space for these diplomatic efforts, even as Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warns of a “heavy price” and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatens retaliatory strikes against U.S. and Israeli assets across the region. A critical point of international concern remains the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global energy route where roughly 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas passes. Iran has moved to restrict navigation and is reportedly charging vessels for safe passage, a move sharply condemned by G7 nations. The United States has deployed additional forces to the region to maintain military options, as the Trump administration insists the waterway must be immediately “Open for Business” to avoid the final phase of its military campaign.
