Owner Of California ‘Trump House’ Fighting For Life After Brutal Attack

California Veteran Critically Injured in Assault Outside Home Known as “Trump House”

A Southern California Army veteran known locally for his heavily decorated pro-Trump residence remains in critical condition after a violent assault outside his home, according to authorities and family members.

Emergency responders were dispatched Wednesday to reports of an assault near the intersection of East Mission Avenue and Buchanan Street, adjacent to the residence owned by 69-year-old Kerry Sheron. When officers arrived, they found Sheron suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he remains in intensive care.

Authorities said a utility worker who witnessed the attack intervened and helped restrain the suspect until police officers arrived. The bystander reportedly sustained injuries during the incident.

Sheron’s wife, Maria Garcia, described the family’s outlook as grim, telling reporters that she fears her husband may not survive. She also expressed her belief that the assault may have been politically motivated because of the home’s prominent patriotic and pro-Trump displays. However, investigators have not announced a motive or confirmed that politics played any role in the attack.

The residence, widely known in the San Diego area as the “Trump House,” has long featured American flags, patriotic decorations, and political displays supporting President Donald Trump. Over the years, the property has attracted attention from both supporters and critics and has previously been the subject of vandalism and complaints.

Police arrested 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler, who has been charged with attempted murder. He is being held without bail at the Vista Detention Facility in San Diego County. According to investigators, Butler fled the scene before being located and taken into custody a short time later.

Individuals who knew Butler have told media outlets that he is a Navy veteran who has struggled with mental health issues. Those accounts have not been independently verified, and authorities have not stated whether mental illness or any other factor contributed to the alleged attack.

Representative Darrell Issa called for a full investigation into the incident and commented publicly on concerns about politically motivated violence. Investigators, however, continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the assault and have not reached any conclusions regarding motive.

As the investigation continues, Sheron’s family remains focused on his recovery while awaiting further developments in the criminal case.
