America is grieving the heartbreaking loss of several members of the renowned gospel music family, The Nelons, after a tragic plane crash claimed seven lives during a flight bound for Alaska.

Authorities confirmed that those killed included pilot Larry Haynie and his wife, Melissa Haynie; family assistant Melanie Hodges; her daughter, Amber Hodges; Amber’s husband, Nathan Kistler; and Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, prominent members of the award-winning gospel group. The only immediate family member not aboard the aircraft was Autumn Nelon Streetman.

In an emotional statement released after the accident, Autumn expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and prayers received from fans, friends, and members of the Christian music community. She described the loss of her loved ones as a sorrow beyond words and asked for continued prayers as the family navigates an unimaginable period of grief.

The group had been traveling to Alaska to participate in the Gaither Homecoming Cruise, a popular gospel music event featuring some of the most respected artists in Christian music. The Nelons were scheduled to perform as part of their long-standing ministry, which has inspired audiences for decades through messages of faith, hope, and encouragement.

According to preliminary reports, the aircraft—a twin-engine private plane—encountered apparent mechanical difficulties while flying over Wyoming. Witnesses reported seeing signs of trouble before the plane crashed into a remote area and erupted into flames.

Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, but the fire had already engulfed the wreckage. Tragically, there were no survivors.

The loss has sent shockwaves throughout the gospel music world, where The Nelons were widely admired for their musical achievements, deep faith, and commitment to ministry. Tributes have poured in from fellow artists, fans, and religious leaders across the country, all honoring a family whose music touched countless lives.

As investigators work to determine the exact cause of the crash, loved ones and supporters continue to remember the victims for the legacy of faith, kindness, and service they leave behind.
